The NVHPV recognises the need for scientific and fair records. We
thank the record committee for the work they have done to create such
rules. We also appreciate the effort to create rules that allow tracks
that are available all over the world. Therefore we won't vote against
this proposal.
But we are still convinced also under this rules there is just one
best location in the world to ride records, and maybe very few others
that are close enough. Further records can only be broken when record
races are organised. The current organisers work with the current
rules, and we don't see any organisers wanting to organise events
under the new rules. Therefore we cannot vote in favour of this rule
change. (I won't deny the fact that The Netherlands has three teams
competing at Battle Mountain, whose interests are also represented by
the NVHPV also plays a role)
That leaves only one option: the NVHPV votes ABSTAIN on this proposal.
