Hi Kevin, I' can’t talk today sorry, but just to be clear.  Yes, when I refer 
to the split, I mean that dialog where you decide where the keyboard should 
start or stop, e.g, –72 etc.
The “record controller curves when playing” option is in the track options 
dialog, it is the one prior to midi in.
Regarding your situation, Bomes will do it for you, as I have it working here, 
but it may take you inputting the keys yourself. I do intend on finding out a 
little more about the manual code that can be added to configure it by hand, 
rather then capturing the notes.  So, would you still like me to pursue this 
information for you?  Is that set up one you would use?  If so, I will find 
things out, but if you don’t want to do that, just let me know . Best steve.

Steve,
Thanks so much for this latest clarification.  I am very grateful for your 
continued persistence.

There are a couple of things which are not precisely clear to me in this last 
email.

When you say, "inputting the split, " are you referring to choosing the option 
at the bottom of The channel input selector in The track options dialog? In 
other words, is record controller curves also in the track options dialogue? If 
not, where is that?

Further, all of this explanation is related to why I was unable to create my 
own split from scratch. Is that correct?  By extension, should I conclude that 
none of this information relates to the issue I'm having about preventing notes 
from sustaining in definitely upon note on.  Correct? 

I will leave Skype on in the event that you have a moment to contact me so I 
can clarify some of the above.

  Also, for your information, Samplitude does not support any 3rd party midi 
plugins, hence the reason why these plugins I’ve been trying don’t work.  So, 
to get the set up you need in Samplitude, you would need to use the Bomes

  While I can use the projects you gave me as starting points, I couldn’t 
reproduce the keyboard restriction.  I tried starting a file from scratch and 
adding the plus or minus 72 in the Split area at the bottom of the MIDi Input 
channel area to restrict the range.  But it didn’t work.  Just so I can learn 
more about how things work, what else does one have to do to create a keyboard 
range filter restriction beyond adding that value?  Again, just want to learn 
as much as I can.

    Phil, 

    Bad news.  I just got a note back from Magix telling me that we’re only 
allowed to use Independence Pro within Samplitude unless we buy an additional 
license.  While I have forwarded an inquiry to find out what the cost of the 
individual license is, and while I kind of understand why an additional license 
might be reasonable, that is a drag.
