Hi Kevin. After inputting the split and confirming/closing that dialog, shift
tab back to “Record controller curves when playing” and check that box, then
uncheck it and click OK. For some reason this kind of wakes up the split.
Also, for your information, Samplitude does not support any 3rd party midi
plugins, hence the reason why these plugins I’ve been trying don’t work. So,
to get the set up you need in Samplitude, you would need to use the Bomes
program. Best steve.

Steve,
While I can use the projects you gave me as starting points, I couldn’t
reproduce the keyboard restriction. I tried starting a file from scratch and
adding the plus or minus 72 in the Split area at the bottom of the MIDi Input
channel area to restrict the range. But it didn’t work. Just so I can learn
more about how things work, what else does one have to do to create a keyboard
range filter restriction beyond adding that value? Again, just want to learn
as much as I can.
Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin, just to let you know about the set up you’re aiming for. Well, I
found that Samplitude does indeed allow you to split the keyboard, so you would
be able to use whatever instruments you like. Also, the range is specific to
that track, meaning you won’t be recording any ghost notes, only that range
will be recorded.
I’m just trying to get cc 64 filtered out and then I think that would be what
you want? Steve.

Phil,
Bad news. I just got a note back from Magix telling me that we’re only
allowed to use Independence Pro within Samplitude unless we buy an additional
license. While I have forwarded an inquiry to find out what the cost of the
individual license is, and while I kind of understand why an additional license
might be reasonable, that is a drag.

Hey Kevin. I think you can use your Samplitude X3 serial number to
authorise independence for use in other DAWS.

Sent a request to Magix through the Service Center. BTW, the Service Center
seems to speak in German now. WTF? Anyway. Any ideas?-- - To post to the
