Aedan, Well done for response! Gina looks like that she will take all this onboard from these posts. Encouragement to do the right thing re accessibility that's for sure! Haven't looked at it for a bit but the world wide consortium site should help too. www3.org. Your html editor should give you this option when you are constructing the page. Repositioning the links is not the answer. Screen readers cannot make any sense of graphic buttons or links so they are designed to readout the alt text of that link instead. Therefore you should make the alternative text as meaningful as possible. At the moment all we are getting from Jaws is "nav 01" or nav 03", etc. Secondly, yes, I was referring to the bottom of the page. There is unnecessary duplication of the site provider there. Kind regards Aedan. -----Original Message----- From: vip_students-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:vip_students-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Gina McNamara Sent: Wednesday, January 19, 2011 3:38 PM To: vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [vip_students] Re: Gina Mc Namara's website Hi Aedan Thanks for your feedback. I am still learning as I go. Just to clarify, with the navigation links, what do you mean by Alt text? Would it be easier if I put them across the top of the page? At the buttom of the page there is the logo of the website provider, is that what you mean by the location? Secondly, there is a unnecessary repeat of the web site location at the bottom of the page. The script is fine.
