I think some older books will convert but they may have converted all their
books to the new format. The old kindle app still pulls the right file down and
it will convert with codex.

I was under the impression that if you had the new Kindle PC which has better
Accessibility for use with screen readers, you couldn’t convert books anymore.
I have a new machine with the new Kindle for PC, and it certainly does work
better than the old one. If it’s possible to convert kindle books with this new
version, that would really be the best of both worlds. But I thought it was not
possible.

The only way I have found to convert books is to use an old version of kindle

read in it, it doesn't matter. I get a book, convwert it in codex and then
delete the book from "My Kindle Content".

I didn't find anything about using the current version of Kindle for pc to
convert a book. I've been using Kindle for pc with accessibility with covex
to convert my Kindle books.
