Monticello Park was hopping today. We saw several American Redstarts,
white-throated sparrows, yellow-rumped warblers and heard the Cape May
warbler. I may have photographed one as well, but my settings were
hopelessly off and I can't be sure of what I photographed. Unlike me,
someone else actually got good photographs of the rosy grosbeak which posed
for photographers at the stream near the entrance of the park.
A northern parula came down to the stream just as we were leaving and
reminded me of just what a jewel the park is.
There will be a formal inauguration of the park on Wednesday, May 25, I
heard. I will post details as I get them.
Enjoy the warbler migration while you can.
