Strong sun and light southwesterly winds produced nice flight conditions at
College Creek today, March 2nd. During about 3 hours, 87 birds crossed the
river, an excellent total for the early season. As expected Turkey Vultures
dominated, but 7 species is good diversity for the site.

A breeding plumaged Laughing Gull was present, as were the first 3 Tree
Swallows for the season. More than 1,000 scaup were around and 41 Tundra Swans
flew over.
Unseasonably warm air is expected for the next several days.
