I got a Chaintech VNF3-250 Socket 754 Motherboard and an Athlon64 3000+. That came to $219.99. Plus there's a $20 rebate, so it's actually $199.99.

That's a really good price for a 64-bit system. In case anyone on the list is wondering about the life of Socket 754, Semprons are going to be 64-bit enabled too some time, so that'll be another way to get into 64-bit relatively inexpensively.

PS: 'haven't a scooby'... that's a new one on me :D

Sorry, Cockney rhyming slang, dontcha know. Scoobie Doo = clue. Thus, 'I haven't a scoobie' = 'I haven't a clue'.

You'd think I'd get that, being from England (Barnet, North London) and all. I just never heard that one :) Maybe my being from North London instead of South London is to blame :> I know a few of them, apples and pears = stairs. Barnet fair = hair. Drives my wife nuts.. LOL
