OK, I browsed the reinstallation CD, installed the so-called Support Tools, and tried sfc /scannow. It says File Checker Version 5.1 Scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions. SFC [/SCANNOW] [/SCANONCE] [/SCANBOOT] [REVERT] [/PURGECACHE] [/CACHESIZE=x] And then, when I type any of those like scannow, scanonce, nothing happens. Getting closer, I guess. Now the Command Prompt stays up, but it tells me that sfc /scannow "is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." I'm making a pest of myself...................... ----- Original Message ----- From: <ChasM49@xxxxxxx> To: <triadtechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, October 17, 2003 6:13 PM Subject: [triadtechtalk] Re: Running out of stones to overturn.
