How did CompactFlash come in to this?!
The C64 Mini does NOT have a CompactFlash (CF) slot nor does it have an SD card
slot. It has two USB 2.0 ports — that’s it. I tried a few different USB flash
drives and they all worked but YMMV. I wanted something physically small and
unobtrusive so I ended up buying a 32GB SanDisk Cruzer Fit for $15 from Amazon:

It works perfectly. The catch is that with the joystick and flash drive plugged
in, there aren’t any free USB ports for a keyboard. This isn’t a problem for
casual gaming as there is an on-screen keyboard but if you’d like to use a
proper keyboard, you’ll need to add a USB hub to the mix. I’m using a fairly
expensive one from Anker but you can get a generic USB hub for about $2
(including shipping from China) on eBay and it should, in principle, work. For
example:

I hope that answers everyone’s questions about storage for the C64 Mini.
As an aside, I’ve noticed an increasing number of subscribers to this list are
not attaching a signature or signing their messages. It would be a lot easier
if you could include your name at the bottom so people knew who they were
talking to. Thanks.
