I spent a couple of hours this afternoon working some wet ditches around
the industrial park at Phipps Bend in Hawkins County. The habitat is a mix
of rushes, sedges, grasses and cattails. Here is a list of the dragonflies
I saw that I could id. I also had a pretty little red dragonfly that I
could not Id. It was a small dragonfly and behaved much like an Eastern
Amberwing, but i haven't seen any photos of an Eastern Amberwing this red.
I had two of these. I'll attach a photo in case anyone wants to id this for
me. Here is a list:

Common Whitetail (3)
Spangled Skimmer (counted 45, many, many of these around)
Halloween Pennant (2)
Eastern Pondhawk (12)

not a single Blue Dasher or Slaty Skimmer although both are very common on
the trail around the lake there.
