You have a good point there, Mark.
This kind of thing, if not too far down the Slippery Slope, can be
stopped by enough people putting their money where their mouth is, and
others raising their voices.
ALL THAT IS NECESSARY FOR THE TRIUMPH OF EVIL IS THAT GOOD MEN DO
NOTHING.
Here in the U. S. a fellow name of T. Boone Pickens not only put up
his own money to get a ball rolling, but enlisted public support of a

Now, our outgoing President is paying attention, and creating a
groundwork of legislation that cannot be ignored by whomever wins the
2008 election.
The Internet goes everywhere, and is outside the EU. Internet content
needs to be created, and posted on websites, where Google and other
search engines will find it: Internet content that tells the truth:
The King has no clothes! There is no science behind RoHS, and it only
serves special interests. Eventually the special interests will be
exposed, and how they profit from creating chaos or blocking certain
kinds of progress.
When people search the Internet for information, True Data will be
found, to stand beside there False Data and discredit it.
That's one way to get the word out, and it costs nothing but the time
of every one of us willing to roll up their sleeves and say what they
know.
Google has created an on-line open encyclopedia without the
liabilities of Wikipedia, in which any idiot can edit anyone else's
entry. Google invented a word Knol, and defined it as a unit of
knowledge. Here the author retains control over what they write and
publish.

I have written a couple to support my paint-and-coatings business: You
could search Knol for "Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer" or CPES and
find one of mine, for example. A reader can click on my name as
author of that Knol and find my credentials.
This new structure can be used to support our common goals.
When you publish a Knol, it has a location in cyberspace, and a
website address, and you can reference that in other things that you
or another posts or emails, and in this manner we, the people, are
given voices to raise.
