As for a winner, bang for the buck, I think the best server in IBM's
line is the x345.  2U, dual XEON, 6 U320 hard drive bays (but who's
gonna use the on-board anyway, everyone gets RAID cards),
2x10/100/1000, ISMP management, good cable management, redundant fans
and power supplies, very solid box.  I've got a bunch of them, and
they've all been rock-solid.  The only thing I wish IBM had done was
to build in a KVM like they did with the 330's and 335's..  But, the
x330's and x335's give us the trouble, much more heat in those little
boxes...  It's been like 4 or 5 hard drives over the last 3 years out
of like 40 of them, and one motherboard..
