Hi,

I don't suppose it's occurred to anyone to see what processes are still running
in this session?

Maybe your "expert" consultant?

That would at least give you a clue as to the problem.

My initial guess would be ctfmon and userinit. Ctfmon stops userinit from
completing on Windows Server 2003.
If userinit is still running, the session probably won't die.

The fix is to install hotfix KB826821.

Unless yu're running a multi-language farm, it's highly desirable to avoid
adding the alternate input components (ctfmon!!) in any of the office related
products. I guess that's what the consultant may have meant with regard to the
custom install thingy.

I'm sure it does not help much.. But we had an expert consultant come to site
to try and fix this for us.

We have a clean server running Windows 2003. He said that we had messed up the
custom install thingy that you need to use when installing office 2000.

We have the latest service pack installed (I think). But somehow still have the
problem.

We have cancelled the project until we can get it working correctly, but it
would appear that there is a lot to look at to get it working.

        Hi guys

I've published Outlook 2000 on my Citrix farm which, when launched,
functions perfectly well. However, I'm unable to exit the session by choosing
File - Exit from the Outlook menu. Once I do that it closes Outlook but returns
me to the default blue Desktop background. The session is still showing as
active in CMC. If I disconnect (click X on the CIA session box), and then
reconnect it returns me to the blue desktop background.

I've tried using Launchit to launch Outlook, but the problem remains.

        Any ideas?

        Paul
