I have seen this issue when the Office File Validation update has been
installed.

Thanks

Subject: [THIN] Off topic - Excel 2010 issues on Citrix

Hi

I recently installed Office 2010 on XenApp 4.5 (running on Windows 2003) for
our finance team. I'm having quite a few issues where Excel intermittently has
the following issues:

- Locks up when trying to open or save a document
- Intermittently gets "Microsoft Excel is waiting for another application to
complete an OLE action"
- Excel isn't releasing the file from File Server. Windows 2003 open files
shows user has file open but from a client perspective on citrix nothing is
open.
- Very slow to save (30 minutes)

Ive tried the following:
- Run Excel in Safe mode - no difference.
- Published Excel on another server with no Addins - no difference
- Server resources are fine. I have 1 user running on a 2 x Quad core physical
server with 24Gb RAM and these issues occur
- For OLE issue, I have checked and unchecked "Ignore other applications that
use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)" - no difference

The files are financial and have lots of macros in them. Are there any best
practice guides in relation to configuring Excel on Citrix?

Thanks
Ang
