Ok, so it's evident some people think it's a complete waste of money and my partner is full of morons, but we tend to lean towards overkill if we can. Another $5k doesn't break the bank, and even if I never grow into it, I'm not doing anything bad by having a dedicated data collector, just spending some extra cash. Now back to my original question, what is the recommendation for partitioning. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Steve Greenberg Sent: Wednesday, June 29, 2005 12:21 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: New Citrix install Yeah, I think some of you guys must be suffering from resource deprivation out their!! :) Not only can it take on these additional roles, but in a pinch it could serve apps, then you have N+2 redundancy, how is that bad? There's nothing idiotic about this. Perhaps a little on the generous side, but there's mileage in dedicating a machine for non-TS activity for a Citrix farm - even if the farm is fairly small in number of servers. The data-collector could also be a WI server, and perhaps host the datastore, too.
