Sounds like recent Microsoft approach: "feature reach clients".

According to MS, servers will recognize client capabilities and limitations and serve content in appropriate format, i.e. Nokia phone will not attempt running full Outlook, but be able to display e-mail in Nokia format, etc.

Obviously this "feature reach client" approach advocated with the rise of "DOTNET" is not exactly lined up with the thin client direction...

Also, looks like Java is doing quite well...

We'll see...

I personally don't see thin computing as the future. I see it more as a
tool that is useful in certain environments. I think that thin apps are
more of the future then thin clients.

I think we all moved away from mainframes because of the "nice" graphics in Windows. Now you have "mainframes" with pictures!! And you can use your mouse too (LOL).

Good luck Angus. I get a lot of grief from the desktop side of the
house. Their company line is "We moved off mainframes to get away from
that, and now you want to force us back." What they are really saying
is that they like their job security :). It really is all in how you
run the numbers.
