-Rarities found this week-
A possible TROPICAL KINGBIRD was an outstanding find on Shallow Ford Rd in
Temple, Bell, on 7/24. This is near the intersection of Taylors Valley Rd.
The bird was observed and photographed but did not vocalize. The bird did
not respond to Couch's playback but was immediately drawn in by Tropical
vocalizations. The bird has not been refound but if anyone is successful,
please attempt to get recordings of any vocalizations.
A SNOWY PLOVER was photographed at the Sore Finger Unit of Granger Lake,
Williamson on 7/24.
-Continuing birds from previous week-
At least three LESSER NIGHTHAWKS continue at the Village Shopping Center in
North Central Austin, Travis, last reported on 7/26. The birds are fairly
active, flying around the shopping center, but have also been photographed
perched on telephone wires. They have been observed daily.
The long-staying GREAT KISKADEE continues at Berry Springs Park in
Georgetown, Williamson, most recently on 7/16.
A HUTTON'S VIREO was refound at Warbler Woods, Guadalupe, on 7/24.
A WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH continues at Max Starke Park in Seguin, Guadalupe
on 7/26.
