6/9/2016. To report rare or unusual bird sightings in the Austin area, provide
recent sighting updates, or inquire about location details on birds listed
below, please send an email to armanmorenobirds@xxxxxxxxx. If submitting a
bird sighting, please include species name, location details, and contact
information.
-Rarities found this week-
A LONG-BILLED THRASHER was found at MetCenter Disc Golf Course in SE
Austin, Travis, on 6/6. The bird was observed singing and seen later on in
the day briefly but has not been relocated. Interestingly, the 2015 LB
Thrasher, which was at a private residence in west Austin, was found on
6/7.
A YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER was late at a private residence in Cedar Park,
Williamson, on 6/4. The bird was seen as well as heard.
A YELLOW WARBLER was late at Inks Lake State Park, Burnet, on 6/4. Most
have migrated through already.
A female ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was photographed at a private residence
south of Blanco on 6/7. There are a handful of June/July records in eBird.
-Continuing birds from previous weeks-
A GREAT KISKADEE continues at Berry Springs Park, Williamson, last reported
on 6/5. Two kiskadees continue at a private residence in Caldwell County,
reported 6/3.
