[TechAssist] Re: Sanyo TV - DS27510 - Won't turn OFF - Followup

Kevin,

The relay is removed from this chassis and the same problem is
occurring. The relay I removed is the thermistor relay. I've checked all
the diodes and transistors in and around the relay as suggested by
another member, I can't find anything obvious. This is a newer model TV
with surface mount components everywhere, even the jungle, micro and
tuner control IC's are surface mount. It's kind of hard to trace things
on this chassis. What I need, and I know I've already asked, is a
schematic on this chassis. I may have to dig deep and purchase one
because I'm stumped.

Thank-you,

David Lessard.

I have tested relays when turned off to see if there is a short where
there shouldn't be. When off of course the relay should be open on the
switch side.

Dave,
I would try removing the relay...Then your 100% sure its not
that...
I did the same thing with the Panasonic, testing relay transistor, pulse
from micro...then I removed/replaced the relay and that took care of the
problem...Panasonic was doing EXACT same thing as your Sanyo...{I
thought it
can't be relay as it clicks on/off}
