Dave,
       I would try  removing the relay...Then your 100% sure its not that...
I did the same thing with the Panasonic, testing relay transistor, pulse
from micro...then I removed/replaced the relay and that took care of the
problem...Panasonic was doing EXACT same thing as your Sanyo...{I thought it
can't be relay as it clicks on/off}
