Jonas,
  Did your esr meter fail? What kind of esr meter do you use? I have
found testing the value of an electrolytic is less important than
testing for esr. I have an old analog esr meter made by a company that
has been out of business now for years, Creative Electronics out of
Michigan. If I had known they were going to close down I would have
bought another from them. They were very well made units. I have seen
some of the newer ones and am not impressed with the quality.
