I wouldnt worry too much. Same thing was said when Transistors replaced
Tubes, and alot of those people are still around.
It just means change, and servicers have to adjust. You will still see the
Human Error / Machine Error Factor in production units put out to meet a
deadline.
IE: Bad Solder , Factory field Bulletin to improve performances etc.
I dont think the US populus is ready to ditch their CRT equipment overnight
, considering the Pollutant problems at risk. It will be a slow gradual
change over many years.

Hi all.
Even worse then any dumping is what is really bothering me, the fact that
picture tubes are being outdated. I understand that Thomson is ready to quit
crt's when they can make a LCD screen in the 13" size that they can sell for
$99.99. The last Zenith school stated that there will be no service center
warranty
on any tv less then 30". Even through we don't replace many crt's the
support
devices (vert, horiz, high voltage, power supplies) will no longer be there.
If you eliminate those circuits what will we work on? Then you have the
sundown of analog tv's on the horizon. WOW.
