John,
I have no video or sound. I think OSG IC IC171 (AN5352) may be defective
because there's no OSG either. Video from tuner or composite-in I
believe passes through this IC but I'm not sure - no schematic. I should
also mention the VCR portion of this unit is not working in that a tape
will load but the video head never spins up. Front panel LED still
blinks (10) times after the PWR button is pressed yet the HV, heater,
etc. remains on - just no video, sound or OSG. Perhaps I have another
power related problem. Does anyone have a service manual for this model
(or similar)?

You're right, there is no parental lock on this set. This set is made
by
Samsung. Do you have video or sound when playing a tape or can you
record a
tape? That would help to determine where you are losing the video.
