I actually like my generator better than the alternator on my bus. I'm not running a bunch of crap, so it serves me well, and it's proved more reliable, since I've replaced two alternators on my bus, and no genny's on my bug. I've owned both for roughly the same amount of time. -----Original Message----- From: Sammie Smith <slsmith@xxxxxxxxx> To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thu, 18 May 2006 12:47:55 -0500 Subject: [tcb] Re: stupid bug Ugh, yeah. Generators run and run and run. My experience with alternators, primarily on American cars, is replace, replace, replace, replace. Of course I know you can't run a whole bunch of new fangled electronics on the output of a generator. But on a VW why do you need an alternator?
