Ugh, yeah. Generators run and run and run. My experience with
alternators, primarily on American cars, is replace, replace, replace,
replace. Of course I know you can't run a whole bunch of new fangled
electronics on the output of a generator. But on a VW why do you need an
alternator?

oh and i have to buy a new generator but that's ok becaue they are only $57 + core at my local flaps store.
