Thanks Jackie, I just thought it was a relevant factor as Amie was asking about the advantage of upgrading to Talks Premium and as Braille is one additional function she would get, it would then not be just a matter of the £50 upgrade but the outlay for Braille too if she thought braille a good idea as a medium for her phone. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jackie Cairns" <jackie.cairnsplace@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

(smile). And I must say that Mobile Speak's Braille support is better than that with Talks. I've always had Premium so have stuck with each upgrade, and like to know there is Braille at my disposal if required. But if you use Standard and are comfortable with what it offers, then don't worry about upgrading. Just my few pence worth! At least it worked and now it says I have version 5.0.3 even though I do not have the Premium bells and whistles on this particular phone. One bell and whistle is that I do not have the Braille tab and so cannot use ny Focus Blue. Another bell and whistle is that I cannot use the Object Viewer. Finally I do not have the Zooms tab which is magnification but I am not bothered about that as I do not use it anyway. Doubtless there are other bells and whistles but I cannot think of them. You can get this from either www.comproom.co.uk or www.talknav.com If you purchased your phone through Vodafone, they would likely have put Talks Standard on it, so you could pay £50 to upgrade to Talks Premium if you wanted to. Hope this helps a bit. IF the question is which version of Talks, is Nuance Talks 4 a reasonable answer? It's the version they put on when I bought the phone, near the beginning of this year. Thanks again. First you need to be aware that on all phones with Talks installed there is a key called the Talks Key. The key used varies slightly from phone to phone so if you can't find this key then let us know which phone you have. Secondly there are 2 keys called soft keys 1 and 2 which are generally to the left and right of the display. These are used with the phone whether or not Talks is installed. To find out the version number you need to go into the talks window. It's a bit like going to the JAWS window on the PC, except the talks window is not permanently displayed on screen. To do this press talks key followed by star (which is to the left of 0) Once in the talks window press soft key 1 which brings up an options menu. Arrow down to about and the version number should be spoken.. Realised you're all referring to the versions of Talks you use and I don't even know which one I have, or how to find out. Figured the first question I need to ask you is how do I find out which version of Talks I'm using, please? Once I know that I'll truly entertain you with my ineptitude!
