I think Saqib, and forgive me if I am wrong, if a sighted person does it there is no problem really. Now I know there are those who do it without any vision but I messed up an N96 and like you had to pay £30 to have it flashed again. Yet I got a sighted person to update and there was no problem at all. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Saqib" <Saqib500@xxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi. I will just wait for the over the air update. I messed up a E71 update and the phone got karrupt so I had to pay to get it flashed and then had another crack at updating it. Lucky for me it worked out the second time. I still wouldn't like to atemp updating my N97 Mini because if I make a mistake then it will turn out to be a very expensive mistake and these updates are not really worth losing a phone over. Not when I shelled out nearly £400 for the beast.-------------------------------------------------- From: "DurDevil" <durdevil@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, February 03, 2010 6:45 PM To: "Talks-Uk Email group" <talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [talks-uk] Re: N85 and E72 with VodafoneHi SaqibYep, that's because over the air updates are not rolled out immediately asthey require further testing as they are made smaller than the NSU updatefiles to allow for access by data users in addition to WiFI (I believe theupdate is in the region of 160MB via NSU so needs shrinking somewhat for over the air) so plug your phone into your pc, load up NSU and see if you're a lucky winner! Alternatively to see if the update is available for you you could put your product code into the Nokia website? Product code is under yourbattery on that label thingy... Then go to the following link and put yourcode in http://www.nokia.co.uk/support/download-software/device-software-update/can- i-update Enjoy! Would there be any reason why I'm not receiving the overthe air update? I received an update for the free Nokia Maps navigation a couple of weeks ago but nothing since then. Vodafone may not be allowing you to update from Version 11. This is not just a Nokia thing, but dependent upon your operator too. Voda won't release a firmware version to their users until they have tested it,so Nokia will of course, block you from updating it. Have vodafone stopped the e71 now? I have an e71 from Vodafone which I only got a short time ago!!! The qwerty keypad is excellent and I am getting faster and faster at using it, certainly mty speed now must be equal to that of the numeric key pad and that was fast.never thought I could achieve this on the qwerty. I do not use predictive type text either but maybe one day I will give that a go. I get fed up withhaving to insert words that are not there already and if I just do it out long-hand so to speak then I know what I am doing. eleanor----- Original Message -----From: Paul Bepey To: talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, January 18, 2010 4:59 PM Subject: [talks-uk] Re: N85 and E72 with Vodafone Hi I have the E72 from Vodafone, but hopefully not for much longer! I think it is fair to say it would be a good practical solution forpeople who like to keep up with emails, appointments, documents etc on themove if they had tested with Talks before it was released. the Calendar and help functions remain inaccessible at present and are completely unusable. Email is readable with Roadsync, though the devicealso comes with Mail4Exchange. It is also worth noting that the browser andTalks are not stable and constantly crash. So, I suppose it's worthavoiding this one currently until accessibility issues are resolved. I alsotried with Mobile speak but removed it after about 10 minutes. From: talks-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:talks-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Graham Page Sent: 18 January 2010 16:27 To: talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [talks-uk] N85 and E72 with Vodafone Hi all. I eventually plan to get out and about to look at these phones but I wondered if anyone had any opinions before I do. Vodafone do 3 phones it seems with WiFI and GPS that could work with Talks, Namely the N85, the E72 and the N97. The N97 is touch screen so I tend to discount that. The E72 is interesting. I am yet to be convinced that a tiny qwerty keyboard is practical when typing. I think I would rather have a keypad with buttons in a 3 by 4 configuration as if thekeyboard is standard qwerty in layout I assume the numbers must end up in a row from 1 to 0 which would be quite different from using a number pad. I have also heard that compromise in the audio side has been made that meansTalks is not so stable though I believe the latest talks release helps. Then there is the N85. the keys seem rather flat compared with the N95 Ihave but it appears to have a conventional keypad as well. I believe ituses an older symbian 3rd generation feature pack so calendar and in-builtemail work well. I have read reviews that suggest poor design qualityhowever the included options look good so the question is I suppose, is how manageable is the E72 and is it likely to struggle with JAWS and would theN85 therefore be the better ;phone to go for?
