Dunno! I think the first time, I let them put Talks on my Nokia whatever it was at the time. Then I just got them to pay me for the cost of swapping the licence from one phone to the next and so on. As, since I initially had talks, I have not had to pay any extra for upgrades, because I upgraded from talks to talks and zooms and purchased extra voices. So Vodafone give me the £50.00 for the handset transfer of the talks licence. _____ From: talks-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:talks-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Eleanor Burke Sent: 19 January 2010 10:52 To: talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [talks-uk] Re: N85 and E72 with Vodafone I have done this too thanks to your suggestion Paul but however, I had Talks put on in the first instance by Vodafone, otherwise, how else could I have honestly asked them to pay for it. Admittedly I did not ask them the first time as I had not had these words of wisdom from you but I did subsequently. ----- Original Message ----- From: All <mailto:allformats@xxxxxxxxx> formats To: talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, January 19, 2010 9:37 AM Subject: [talks-uk] Re: N85 and E72 with Vodafone Yeah! Get your own version of Talks but, get Vodafone to give you the cash for what they would have paid for putting Talks on for you... They are pretty good about this in my experience with them over the last three or four times I've done it. _____ From: talks-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:talks-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of cheeky chipmunk Sent: 18 January 2010 16:42 To: talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [talks-uk] Re: N85 and E72 with Vodafone in my opinion I wouldn't get talks from vodaphone because they don't put the right version on but I have the n85 and talks licence through someone else. I eventually plan to get out and about to look at these phones but I wondered if anyone had any opinions before I do. Vodafone do 3 phones it seems with WiFI and GPS that could work with Talks, Namely the N85, the E72 and the N97. The N97 is touch screen so I tend to discount that. The E72 is interesting. I am yet to be convinced that a tiny qwerty keyboard is practical when typing. I think I would rather have a keypad with buttons in a 3 by 4 configuration as if the keyboard is standard qwerty in layout I assume the numbers must end up in a row from 1 to 0 which would be quite different from using a number pad. I have also heard that compromise in the audio side has been made that means Talks is not so stable though I believe the latest talks release helps. Then there is the N85. the keys seem rather flat compared with the N95 I have but it appears to have a conventional keypad as well. I believe it uses an older symbian 3rd generation feature pack so calendar and in-built email work well. I have read reviews that suggest poor design quality however the included options look good so the question is I suppose, is how manageable is the E72 and is it likely to struggle with JAWS and would the N85 therefore be the better ;phone to go for?
