We are on 20.6.119 now I believe. The camera app is definitely shut. This is the exact same problem I had on my previous handset. Also, are you definitely closing the camera application when you open the cover? When you open the cover the camera app opens automatically. You need to close it before going into Beyo. If you installed the FP1 version, you would get the error initialising the camera. As before, the cover is off the lense, the light is reaso0nable, and it doesn't matter how far the phone is from the paper, it always happens. But you can download it for yourself at http://www.comproom.co.uk For the N85, I believe you will need the FP2 version. You get a 14 day demo, and the cost is 75 pounds. They are a lot less stable than Symbian phones in my view, and the cameras are better on Symbian phones. Think carefully before you do that, especially if you want something like TextScout, or even the Beyo reader, which is only 75 pounds. Have vodafone stopped the e71 now? I have an e71 from Vodafone which I only got a short time ago!!! The qwerty keypad is excellent and I am getting faster and faster at using it, certainly mty speed now must be equal to that of the numeric key pad and that was fast. never thought I could achieve this on the qwerty. I do not use predictive type text either but maybe one day I will give that a go. I get fed up with having to insert words that are not there already and if I just do it out long-hand so to speak then I know what I am doing. eleanor ----- Original Message ----- From: Paul Bepey <mailto:Paul.Bepey@xxxxxxxxx> To: talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, January 18, 2010 4:59 PM Subject: [talks-uk] Re: N85 and E72 with Vodafone Hi I have the E72 from Vodafone, but hopefully not for much longer! I think it is fair to say it would be a good practical solution for people who like to keep up with emails, appointments, documents etc on the move if they had tested with Talks before it was released. the Calendar and help functions remain inaccessible at present and are completely unusable. Email is readable with Roadsync, though the device also comes with Mail4Exchange. It is also worth noting that the browser and Talks are not stable and constantly crash. So, I suppose it's worth avoiding this one currently until accessibility issues are resolved. I also tried with Mobile speak but removed it after about 10 minutes. I eventually plan to get out and about to look at these phones but I wondered if anyone had any opinions before I do. Vodafone do 3 phones it seems with WiFI and GPS that could work with Talks, Namely the N85, the E72 and the N97. The N97 is touch screen so I tend to discount that. The E72 is interesting. I am yet to be convinced that a tiny qwerty keyboard is practical when typing. I think I would rather have a keypad with buttons in a 3 by 4 configuration as if the keyboard is standard qwerty in layout I assume the numbers must end up in a row from 1 to 0 which would be quite different from using a number pad. I have also heard that compromise in the audio side has been made that means Talks is not so stable though I believe the latest talks release helps. Then there is the N85. the keys seem rather flat compared with the N95 I have but it appears to have a conventional keypad as well. I believe it uses an older symbian 3rd generation feature pack so calendar and in-built email work well. I have read reviews that suggest poor design quality however the included options look good so the question is I suppose, is how manageable is the E72 and is it likely to struggle with JAWS and would the N85 therefore be the better ;phone to go for?
