I use Studio Recorder to record streaming from the Internet often and have
had no problems doing this. I simply set SR recording to Mixed.
I have jaws set to another sound card.

Hello,
My suggestion for recording speaker output with no static, no nothing (even
when you change the volume it's not affected), you should download Audacity,
any version (though I recommend 2.0.6), and the first time you use it,
there's a setting in the Edit menu called "preferences". Under the Devices
section, you want to change the Interface Host to Windows Wasapi and the
Recording device to something like Loopback or whatever. Then, under
Recording, choose the option for 2 channels, or stereo, under the Recording
Channels option. The good thing about Audacity is that it's free, so you
don't really need to purchase anything. If you're looking to do this with
Studio Recorder alone, I've explored it myself and there's no such option.
Plus it may jitter throughout the recording when using Studio Recorder - in
the end Audacity will do a much better job of this. I think anyone who uses
SR should also use Audacity - I'm one of those, and Audacity can do most of
the things (which I personally want) that Studio Recorder can't do. Also,
if you use Speech, my recommendation is to start recording, go to wherever
you're going to record the sound (like from the Internet, etc), turn your
speech off, and then record it. Once the file is over with, turn speech
back on, go back to Audacity, and save it. Then you will edit out the
speech with Studio Recorder if you have the full version which I wish I did.
You could just edit it out with Audacity but I must honestly say, it's
harder, especially being blind. Hope this helps. And Michele - sorry
