You will find Audacity to do a better job than Depopper and Audacity is free. If you are a jaws user there is a help/cheat sheet that can be found on the web to help the Jaws user out with commands for using Audacity. -----Original Message----- From: studiorecorder-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:studiorecorder-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Duane Iverson Sent: Wednesday, February 29, 2012 7:24 PM To: studiorecorder@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [studiorecorder] Re: removing hiss in studio recorder I would like to know more about Audacity myself. SR has no facilitys for removing pops clicks ETC from a file. I have used a program called depopper in the past with some good results. It is looked down upon by the elite audio editors (or at least some of them) who populate this list, but you may find it worth a try. google depopper and you will be able to download a 30-day evaluation copy from the company. It's a company in Brazil with a name like Droid Informatica. I have also played with goldwave which also has a free evaluation available but have not had quite as good luck with goldwave as I did with depopper. My friend Milton Ota likes Total Recorder. If you want to spend money you can buy sound forge but that's hundreds of dollars. On the other hand it is the catilac of sound editors or so I am told. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Armando M" <armando.maldonado0767@xxxxxxxxx> To: <studiorecorder@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, February 29, 2012 7:01 AM Subject: [studiorecorder] removing hiss in studio recorder > Hello, > I was wondering, if it was possible to remove hiss within a wav file using > studio recorder?
