Don't forget there's a home and studio version of Sound Forge too. I love
the Pro one though, it can record in 7.1 surround sound. But that's for
another time. That's just why I love it.

Thanks for getting back to me.this is Roger C. from Voices of Xperience. As
some have already mentioned, Audacity is a good alternative. You might also
consider GoldWave or if you want to spend some real bucks and you use JAWS
for Windows, and a have a professional program on your machine, the
professionals use Sound Forge preferred by small studios and radio stations.
