Hi, the arrow keys, depending on your zoom setting, should speak the part of
the word you are on. It just doesn’t loop it. You only hear things as you arrow
and only that part of the word you are on.

I wonder how you use the arrows without the control key?
What I have done is when I find a pop that needs to be removed I hold down the
control key and use the left or right arrow to move over the pop. Just to the
left I hit left-bracket, then move past the pop, then hit right-bracket then
move back one notch and hit control X to remove the pop.
I did try the control f11 and f12 and they seem to do exactly the same thing.

Sorry, doesn’t work as well as just the arrow keys or the function keys. Not
even with JAWS turnned off.

Hi Neal,
Even with Jaws turned off, try control f12, and you then should be able to get
exactly where you want to be in the file.
I just tried it and it worked great!

Jamie. Even when I use the function keys or turn JAWS off altogether, bi seem
to still get closer to where the word starts with the arrow keys or function
keys alone. I hear the beginning of the word using the control key as a
modifier, and yet I can press the right arrow key 3 or 4 times before I
actually get to the beginning of the word. I just can’t get the control keys in
use here to get me close, I hear the first part of the word repeated, but I am
further from it than when using the arrow keys alone.

If you are using Jaws, use F11 and F12 rather than the arrow keys. The Jaws
keyboard intercept seems to break things badly. This is true in Goldwave and
Reaper as well.

Hi All. Up until now, I have only used the arrow keys for scrubbing, but I
decided to play around with the control arrow keys and here is what I have
found that seems to either be a problem, or Neal doesn’t know what he is doing.
When I hold down the control key and arrow forward until I hear the beginning
of the very next word, I seem to be somewhat further from that word than when I
use the arrow keys alone and go until I hear the first part of the word. I have
looked in the settings menu at the general page and scrubbing. There are
several things I can change, but it doesn’t appear that I can change how close
to the word I can get with control arrow keys. What am I doing wrong?
