Actually, both work just the same for me in JAWS 17. I just cannot get as
close to the sound with the control keys as I can with the arrow keys or
function keys.

Hi Neal,
If you are using jaws, scrubbing can only be done with the control f12 keys.
That takes you forward in the file, and control f11 takes you backwards.
