Okay, well I AM a signer of the breeder's code so I guess I am speaking from 
within?-?and I can see why some would not sign it???? If my circumstances were 
when I signed it what they are today (stud dog etc), I would think twice about 
signing it?because I do not necessarily agree with some of the wording and 
stipulations around repeat breedings??? Yes there are ways around that stance 
in the code, but that doesn't make it a good part of the code??? 
I believe the intent of the code is absolutely wonderful and kudos to Jamie and 
whoever else has worked on it???? However, those with concerns about signing it 
are not breeders that have issues within their kennel - TRUST ME???? 
Several?are very reputable breeders who run a "tight ship" and do not feel 
signing a piece of paper with such vague and unenforcable restrictions makes 
them better breeders??? But that is another?debate I guess? 

The debate now is whether not signing the breeder's code should be?a basis for 
disallowing member's in good standing from the same rights as other members? 
i.e. Web Site Advertising?? 
The idea of everyone signing it then we'll work out the kinks would be a good 
idea, but when everyone signs it then suddenly it will get dropped because the 
strong-arming worked?????? 
I believe that giving some member's more or better rights over a piece of paper 
is not the way to encourage them to sign it??

Yup.  I have the same memory.
 
What brought it back to the fore was that apparently you need to be a  
signer to advertise on  the web site.  
 
I don't have a problem with that.  I don't have a problem w/ signing  it 
now and working to put teeth into it.  I don't have a problem w/ signing  a 
tougher one and having a review committee for infractions.
 
I guess I do have a little problem w/ those that HAVE a problem  <VBG> not 
being willing to do any of the above and work from within to  make changes.
 
It's not going to ruin my day though, lol.  Just came back from the  garden 
center w/ a whole lot of fresh herbs to plant.  Ever smell lemon  thyme???  
I'm hungry for a roast chicken now!
