Peggy - I'm with you on this - I whelp litters in a bedroom next to mine.
The room is carpeted; but what I did was buy a great big piece of cheap
linoleum, placed it on top of the carpet and then put the whelping box on
top of that, and so the area all around the box, including leading up to the
door of the room was covered with the linoleum. And all of this is because
I can get my sleep in between checking on squeeling puppies for the first 3
weeks or so. Then I move them downstairs into a pen in my basement.
