[ SHOWGSD-L ] Re: current BOD

This brought to mind a lister comment (can't remember who, sorry) the
other day. Is it true that the GSDCA was formed for the Conformation
Dogs? When I first joined, it was because I thought I was going to be
going in to obedience with a GSD and joining the club was the right
thing to do to learn about the total GSD. (She turned out
conformation/obedience LOL) But if the GSD is the Total Dog and the
Club was formed when schutzhund work was part of, rather than
separated from, the work, didn't that entail tracking, obedience,
herding, the works? It sort of boggled my mind as I've been thinking
about that comment the last few days. I know AKC stopped the bite
work, but shouldn't the emphasis be more spread than just the
conformation aspect? Just asking.
