Good one, Mike. Not all shoulders have gone, we still see some. However, when watching an unbalanced dog, even if the front is correct you cant appreciate it because the movement is out of synch. Now, by balance I mean correctly balanced. Some dogs can be balance, not enough on each end and viola!! they are balanced....but not correct. Covering the most ground with the least effort......this doesn't necessarily translate to speed. Have you ever seen a dog with excellent suspension overcoming those dogs in front of him and looking effortless? It is a thing of beauty. They just make it look easy....as it should be. More and more we should expect judges to insist on dogs shown on a correct speed and a loose lead. Let that head drop a bit, let them use their bodies without the handlers support or meddling....then you will see a better and truer picture of the dogs. When it comes to bitches, its all about the physics. Less mass makes it easier to move.
