I use a lamp - heating pads remove water
My lamp raises and lowers
My whelping area has a whelping box a table with scale, hemostats, etc
It also has a small swimming pool (sides cut down so the pups can use it)
filled with chips for mom
to potty as she does not leave the pups for the first few days. Eventually the
pups use the pool as
they watch mom use it. Makes for easier house breaking
THere is also a crate for mom to go into
The area has an expen around it to prevent other dogs in the house hold from
getting near the
mom and eventually to keep older pups from leaving the secured area
I sleep on the couch outside the area whether the bitch is maiden for about a
week
If she is agggressive or has had a c section, she gets muzzled
My whelping box has adjustable sides and is raised up off the floor with a ramp
to the area and a
rail for pups to go under
