Joan, I read the Purdue study a long time ago and do not remember if they studied bloodline relationships. Here is the link to Linda's article on the Purdue Study: _http://www.greatdanelady.com/articles/on_my_soap_box_purdue_bloat_study.htm_ (http://www.greatdanelady.com/articles/on_my_soap_box_purdue_bloat_study.htm) I have seen, as I am sure you and others have seen that some lines do seem to bloat more then others. It is not all genetic, but I am sure there is a pre disposition to bloat in some lines. Bloat is a complicated issue and I sure wish they would figure it out. I know we do the best we can for our dogs with a complete good diet and hope that our babies stay well. At least if they do get ill, I know we did the best we could for them.
