The biggest problem I see with the temperament test is whether we (we meaning the collective members of GSDCA) care enough to make sure it's done right. Example; we have recently had a discussion about the upcoming Plum Creek Shows in Denver and the Sunday Judge. There have been several people who have shared their experiences and several people have written letters to AKC regarding his implementation of the temperament test in the past. Several of us have decided not to enter on this day. However, many of the professional handlers are trying to place pressure on their clients to register their dogs. It's lost money to them and that apparently takes precedence over what is in the best interest of the animals and our sport. There are several others who are going to 'take a chance' and enter their dogs and hope things go ok. Maybe it will, and I certainly hope so. Is it any wonder we have a hard time making positive changes in this sport? Dee Lauffer ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2005.
