It came through for me ok, maybe the list server scrambled it. I think the point that is being missed; it's NOT the 4 month rule (that has recently been expanded), it's the "guidelines section" and the "business relationship" section. Your mom was on the bitch, Jeff was hired to show the bitch BEFORE showing to her at the F/M. Now, we can ALL point to times this has happened. Not only that, as Sally correctly mentions there's more ink on dog transfers before F/Ms and nationals than any other time of the year. Somebody complained to the AKC though. (Wasn't me, I don't have a dog in the fight, lol). Once that happens...... What irritates me through all of this though, and why I jumped in (if anybody cares), is that good people are having their names smeared through all of this. Here's the deal; it doesn't make any sense to me to try and defend breaking a rule. It could be a stupid rule, it could be something that wasn't deliberate, 100 other people could have broken the same rule and never been caught/punished/sanctioned. Remember when all of our collective mothers said it doesn't matter if dozens of others went trough a red light it's still wrong and if you get caught you take your punishment? So to defend things that were never the point of the sanction, to rebut facts NEVER in question (i.e. that your Mom had a problem w/ the AKC), to offer silly money rewards to make a point that wasn't at issue in the first place and ESPECIALLY to drag down others' reputation while doing so...well it offends me. But I appreciate you answering the question and confirming the facts Linda. Plain and simple, your mom co-owned a bitch that Jeff was hired to handle BEFORE he showed to her at the F/M. In addition to the board members who are being smeared, you know who my heart breaks for???? Jeff's owners who had their awards taken away. Now, on a positive note...free shipping from Land's End. Knew the 4 month rule- never knew a new rule set forth by AKC May of this year could be retroactive to April 2007. LOL I only verified with Jeff that he was not under me at the NE Fut-Mat June 2007. That would have violated the rule. Situations that require you to excuse a dog entered under you. 1. A dog you or a member of your family has owned, co-owned, sold, boarded, etc. within one year (In Guidelines, with the excusal requirement added, but also in Chapter 11, Section 13). 2. A person who has handled for you within four months prior to the show date (In Guidelines also elsewhere with the excusal requirement added in the "CONFLICT OF INTEREST" section). 3. A person with whom you have a business relationship (In Guidelines). Now, Joan, since you have put this out there, and Linda, since you bring it up below, but actually "skirt" #3 above, and since you've both made it all quite public, is it true that the AKC has entry forms for a show that closed prior to the F/M that were submitted/signed or e-signed by Joan (BEFORE the Futurity/Maturity in question) for a bitch of Joan's that Jeff was to show AFTER the F/M???? Because if that was the case, then Joan would have had a "business relationship" prior to the F/M, Jeff would have been unable to show to Joan and the subsequent actions taken by the GSDCA were indeed correct. I don't think anybody ever questioned (or at least I didn't) that Joan was sanctioned by the AKC, but that seems to be the point of rebuttal. Anyway, it's a moot point. Anyone can look at the back of the Gazette and see that's not the case. The question is whether the parent club sanctions were just and IF Jeff was contracted and/or entries were made before the F/M, then they were just. The scuttlebutt is that the AKC has such entry forms, and again, rather that go round and round about an AKC sanction that wasn't in questions, maybe either of you could clear that up. The GSDCA Futurities/Maturities are AKC *sanctioned* matches. Therefore, the judge of an AKC sanctioned match is required to follow *AKC* rules and guidlines in effect at the time the match took place. Here's the AKC link where you will find the 4-month rule stated clearly and concisely: http://www.akc.org/about/conflict/exhibitB.cfm Look under section III. Ineligible Dogs and you will see the following: "2. If a judge uses an agent, the agent is not to exhibit dogs under the judge for at least four months after working for you. This policy applies for breed competition, but it is recommended to avoid at all levels (Policy - Guidelines)." If my post is incorrect, please let met know.
