Do we know of any line that is totally torsion free? I am guessing that would
be a very short list.

I agree Zoa but it is important for people to Share what information they
have on this.. If they do not, we can not make good breeding decision. To
many people hide it and then rumors start flying. Good dogs get shunned
and not used because a dog from that pedigree torsioned? Although I am
sure there are environment factors as well it does appear with a ton of cases
that is not the case. I know of to many dogs that did this at home resting
in there crates.... That just scares me to death.
Thanks for sharing the info and I am just so sorry you had to go through
this Jeannie and Penny....

(including myself) believe they are probably genetic, but I am uncomfortable

words like "carrier" until and unless we have some real proof. Otherwise,
it is too easy to wind up pointing fingers at individual dogs and breeders.
Perhaps I am behind in my reading, and a genetic marker has been
discovered. If so, please send me a link to the research. A "carrier" has to
carry something like a dominant or recessive gene. That piece seems to be
missing.
