This is what my vet told me when I rushed Cassie in. She said it could
possibly work a little but it could only be used once and it is not a guarentee
on dogs. Where she had better luck with IV's and steroids and some other
drugs. BUT that coctail of stuff would render her unable to reproduce. So I
had a choice to maybe not save her or almost definetly save her.
She was 14 months old and it was a baby rattler - not a good combo. Baby
rattlers don't have controll of their dose of venom and use it all. Amazing
what you learn at those time. That little bugger didn't have any left when we
got home!

Alycia,
I have a question for you. I have been told that the anti venom that they use
on humans doesn't work on dogs. All they do is support the dogs with I'v's and
hope it pulls through. Is this true??

Don't touch the 'bull' or 'rat' snakes they will eat the smaller rattlers!
Snakes are no fun and cost a lot of money when a dog gets bitten. I know:(
