That is being studied by a Morris Animal Foundation Grant in a current but
not completed until summer of 2012 study of supported by the American
German Shepherd Dog Charitable Foundation. They are looking at the genetics of
it.
I have had good luck with Prozyme a heaping 1/4 tsp for every cup of dog
food, using lamb and rice and increasing the serving of food until I get the
right stool consistency-- but being sure that I am increasing the prozyme
at the same time. The current dog I have with the issue is my son's
Doberman who I have now adopted and call "Velcro" --You might guess why:-) and
he
is just incorrigible:-)

Could someone tell me if SIBO is genetic. I had her tested for EPI plus
other things and SIBO was positive. She is so skinny and I can't get
weight
on her. No runny poop, just skinny. I have used probiotics, nutracal,
digestive enzymes and 2 things from Natures Farmacy. She will put the
weight back on early summer but I am at my wits end as I really hate seeing
her so skinny
