We have a young bitch who had chronic SIBO. She remained at only 54 # from
the age of 6 months through 11 months, and had diarrhea daily.She was tested
for EPI and folate and B-12 levels at Texas A&M.(Everything within normal
range but suggestive of SIBO) The director of the gastrointestinal lab
suggested 6 weeks of Tylan and weekly B-12 injections. We did that and
while the diarrhea improved, she did not put on any weight. (Fecals showed
nothing but bacterial overgrowth.)
Nature's Variety agreed to put her in a feeding trial with their raw food.
In five months she gained 9 pounds and has no more diarrhea. Wow, what a
difference!
