Get rid of litter nominations? You are a teacher now...the concept
of "futurity" shouldn't be beyond your grasp.
One nominates a litter because one has faith in his or her breeding
program....if you believe your litter is going to produce winners, you
nominate it...sure, you don't have to compete when the time comes, but
the point of calling it a "futurity" is because you are making an
assumption that what is going to happen in the "future" will live up to
your expectations, and prove you were right in doing a particular
breeding.
If you don't have to nominate a litter, and can just wait until it's
time to enter your latest purchase, or the happy result of a litter you
bred "just because," then you can't really call it a "futurity."
The name of the event demands some kind of qualifier long before
you know what you've got on your hands.
As for having regions, I believe someone (Tish?) already asked
you...how else would you divide the country up? Regions make perfect
sense to me. Notice I have not addressed whether dogs should stay in
their own regions...that is not my business.
As for Kathaleen's comments, an awful lot of what she had to say
makes a lot of sense.
