Well, in the past, I had a bitch who produced a heart murmur.  I took  her 
out of my breeding program and had her spayed.  If I could have a DNA  test 
that 
would tell me a bitch carried the recessive for a heart problem.   I would 
probably do the same and never create the problem.
 
OR, I might could find a sire that DID NOT carry the problem and be able to  
breed to him.
There is a lot to think about here, But I foresee in the future a lot of  
elimination of health problems coming about through DNA testing.
