Hi Everybody:
I am sorry I haven't been able to post much. But I am working with Caroline
Gerganoff putting together a DNA Blood Draw and Mouth Swab DNA Draw for the
GSDCA National Specialty Show..in Oct. 2007..
The whole story about it will appear in the September Review.. We are
thrilled to announce that the Broad Institute has agreed to support this
effort and they are sending a team..( They are the ones that are noted for
THE DOG GENOME RESEARCH..) We have had a tremendous amount of cooperation from
Researchers and Vet Techs, etc.. and all will be given full credit for their
invaluable assistance.
Other Breed Clubs, including the Rottweilers and Golden Retrievers Clubs
have put on these DNA Blood Draws at their Nationals. So , Caroline and myself,
are very excited to be able to offer this for the first time to the GSD
Fancy.. We sincerely Hope that it will become a permanent part of our
National... .
The Blood Draws and Mouth Swabs are shared with other DNA Researchers and
will cover all the Major Health issues..so we are hoping you will all join in
and participate.. This Blood Draw and Mouth Swab Program will be offered
absolutely FREE TO ALL... Caroline and I have many things to handle so I have
had little time for anything else.. "This effort is a Small Step for
Mankind...But a Giant Step for our Breed!!!
